Unlike our complete online archive of Automatic Age Magazine, our Coin Machine Journal collection is in progress. The Coin Machine Journal is an coin-op industry publication publised between 1931 and 1962. Highly prized by collectors, and previously very hard to find or gain access to, these issues provide a unique insight into a time of dynamic industry growth and invention.

We have two paths to building this archive. The first path is to create PDFs from a set of black and white copies made in 1991. This is the easiest and least expensive solution for us. Unfortunately, the lack of color (or contrast) makes photos in the magazine hard to see. Using this method, we have created a 'test' set below containing a number of issues from 1932 and 1933.

Alternatively, we may scan directly from original issues. While this produces a higher quality output, it is also much more expensive and time intensive to do. We have not made a final decision yet. Please note that in order to view these files, you need to have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 or higher or equivalent installed on your computer (PDF version 1.6). Additionally, if viewing on an iPad, please allow up to several minutes for each page to load.
